They can also play an important role in an individual\u2019s well-being according to \u201cSweet Insights: State of Treating 2020,\u201d a recent National Confectioners Association (NCA) study, and John Downs, NCA president and CEO.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key takeaway from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.confectionerynews.com\/Article\/2020\/03\/02\/NCA-releases-new-five-year-strategy-and-announces-plans-for-a-National-Candy-Month-in-June\">study<\/a>, which surveyed more than 1, 500 adults about the products they buy and why, is the understanding that participants firmly believe that \u201cchocolate, candy, gum and mints are an essential part of their lives and emotional well-being\u201d and \u201cthat good emotional well-being leads to better physical well-being leading to a happy life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with the snack and beverage industries, the confection or candy industry is also concerned about meeting consumers\u2019 changing expectations. They want to know where ingredients are sourced from, how those ingredients are produced, and if that process is environmentally sustainable. Alternative ingredient options including vegan, plant-based, and organic ingredients as well as a company\u2019s approach to social responsibility also play a role in many consumers\u2019 decision-making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since National Candy Month occurs during the month of June, it\u2019s a great time to add a bit more fun and sweetness to the start of summer. This year many New York City employees are craving an \u2018emotional well-being\u2019 boost after dealing with the COVID-related challenges of the past several months.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To meet Millennial and Gen Z employees\u2019 desire to make choices based on personal preferences and beliefs, New York City employers should first inquire about the products their employees want and then offer a variety of traditional and alternative candy, chocolate, gum, and other <a href=\"https:\/\/marchenyc.com\/products.php\">sweet treats<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/marchenyc.com\/break-room-design.php\">break room<\/a>.
